Background

The grid community is seeking a new paradigm for the testing and evaluation of emerging grid optimization algorithms to accelerate the adoption of these algorithms by industry. As a response to the community, ARPA-E is laying the foundation for this paradigm via the Grid Optimization Competition. Success in this competition will require competitors to demonstrate the applicability and strength of new algorithms across a wide range of system operating conditions.
